As an experienced executive coach Gordon has worked mainly with C-suite, Executives, General Managers and Senior Managers, which has enabled him to significantly deepen his understanding of how organisations work and the challenges faced by leaders in organisations. He has also worked with small business owners to assist them transform their leadership style and / or their business.With more than 30 years of both formal and informal experience in working with people and in various leadership roles, Gordon is ideally equipped to facilitate growth and transformation for individuals within teams and organisations. 
Faith, family, friendships and integrity are some of the values that he cherishes. He has been married to Riana for 34 years, and counting. They have an amazing 24 year old daughter, Jessica.

Leadership Development is a particular area of interest for Gordon and this is often the aspect he is asked to help clients focus on. He has, however, helped clients achieve a broad spectrum of goals. These range from improving performance, confidence, emotional intelligence, communications skills, people skills, to achieving better business results, improving team dynamics or preparing for or stepping into a new role effectively.


Corporate Experience

Although his degree is geared toward communications Gordon has had a wonderfully varied working experience; one that has helped him gain a solid understanding of business and to nurture leadership, management and people skills. This includes a stint in the public sector, a great opportunity to help a successful retail business move to the next level and a fulfilling season serving as a pastor. He then had an opportunity to establish and run an ‘in-house’ publishing company for a multinational, not for profit entity. Acting as MD of this company for 7 years was a great stretching experience and one that has certainly added to the understanding and skills he brings to the table as a coach.


Gordon’s qualifications include: a BA (English & Philosophy) from WITS and a Communication sub-major from UNISA. He is a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) with the International Coach Federation (ICF) and holds the Certificate of Professional Coaching (COPC – Stage 3) from Results Coaching Systems (RCS). He has over 150 hours of coach specific training hours.

As an expert on procurement /supply chain Benson has authored a journal and provided best practice support in Africa, and presenting annual best practices papers in (Orange) Paris.
